Oud

I've heard a lot of things about Oud before being able to smell it and can confirm that all the hype is justified. The complexity of the blend is mind blowing: fresh citrus, the oud and leather, flowers, salty, slightly animalic on the clean side... so many facets in there, very complex. Adictive.

The fragrance starts directly with a statement: An intensely animalic, almost slightly "cheesy" oud at first – you have to be able to handle that, but I absolutely love it! Fortunately, the fragrance noticeably lightens up over time and becomes more accessible. A beautiful, spicy saffron note develops, combined with an earthy, minimally "dusty" depth. All of this is accompanied by a noble rose, striking leather, and fine, woody tones, perfectly balanced by a subtle, sweet-fruity facet. The sillage is enormously strong and projects fantastically. An extremely complex, profound fragrance for everyone looking for real, characterful oud!

The fragrance is an extremely animalic-driven scent that radiates a raw, blunt intensity. The composition feels deep, leathery, and distinctly animalic, almost like the dry air of a stable, without necessarily being negatively connoted – rather, pure, unfiltered nature stands at the forefront here. This impression is accompanied by a dry, sandy warmth reminiscent of a drive through the steppe in a heated Jeep. Dusty air, heat, and endless expanse merge into a dense, powerful overall picture. Especially in the drydown, the fragrance unfolds its particular strength and is well-suited for layering, as it lends a striking, animalic depth to other compositions.
