Tonnerre

Tonnerre was a little challenging for me at first. The opening feels very fresh and sharp, with a citrusy, strongly peppery character, but it quickly develops a pronounced smoky, almost wood-fire atmosphere. At first, the smoke felt slightly overwhelming, but wearing it for a full day completely changed my opinion. On clothes, it becomes softer and much better integrated, while the freshness remains in contrast with the darker smoky side. It is distinctive, atmospheric and surprisingly wearable once it settles. I have found myself coming back to it several times, which is probably the best compliment I can give it.

Tonnerre is not a fragrance for a cozy walk in the park. This scent smells of thunderstorms, smoke, gunpowder, and total escalation. Beaufort London manages once again to capture an atmosphere instead of simply smelling "nice." Tonnerre feels dark, dirty, raw, and at the same time fascinatingly alive – as if you were standing in the middle of a historical battlefield while the sky breaks apart above you. This is definitely not a crowd-pleasing fragrance. It wants to stand out, provoke, and tell a story. Dirty. Smoky. Charged with thunderstorms. Absolutely uncompromising. Tonnerre does not smell like a perfume. Tonnerre smells like the moment before everything blows up.

The scent is incredibly strong; the packaging has been open for two days and the scent is still there. Heavy, smoky, with hints of smoke, and dark. Not for everyday wear. For evening wear, only for men.
