Bat

Bat is definitely not a fragrance for everyone, and that is a good thing. Earthy, fruity, and animalic notes collide here, not necessarily seeing eye to eye right away. Passion fruit, guava, and fig provide an unusual fruitiness, while soil, leather, incense, and vetiver add considerable depth. In the background, it becomes mineral, woody, and pleasantly dark. At times, the whole composition seems idiosyncratic, almost a bit wild and untamed. A scent that polarizes, has rough edges, and makes no compromises. Conclusion: Certainly not a sunny walk on the dike, but rather a journey into a mysterious cave. You have to like it, but boring is definitely something else.

Exactly what I was expecting, such a unique fragrance. At first you smell a lot of all the fruits, but as it settles on your skin you can really smell the "animal notes" in it. It really smells like a wild animal and so, adding all the other notes, it really gives you the impression of smelling a real bat inside a deep cave, in a good way.

On the first spray, this perfume hit me with full force; the projection is truly intense, but eases off a bit once it has sat on the test strip or skin for a while. On the test strip, the fruits in the fragrance mostly come through, but gradually a bit of a horse stable smell emerges (meant in the best sense of the word!), where I smell warm hay and straw. On my skin, the fragrance is significantly earthier and more leathery; the fruit compote only comes through gradually later on. The dry-down is surprisingly very smoky and tart, and a very... animalic scent runs throughout, which is very difficult to describe. On the skin, it has less of a 'horse stable' character and is more akin to the impression of nestling against a warm, furred animal; almost as if cuddling up to the countless small bodies of bats on a cave ceiling. Among the fruits, I clearly smell the guava, which is great if you like guava; unfortunately, I'm not one of them, as guava always gives me the impression of overripe, almost spoiled fruit. Otherwise, there is something vaguely tropical underneath, and to me, also a bit of banana. On my dry skin, the fragrance lasted for about 6 hours until the animalic and leathery notes completely vanished.
