Varanasi

While Meo Fusciuni as a brand is a bit hit and miss for me, Varanasi captivated me from the very first spray. Not an easy one, I have to admit, it is animalic but very well blended, evocative, just beautiful. I'd definitely test it before buying it unless you are already familiar with other animalic beasts. I'd love if the projection lasted longer since it becomes a skin scent faster than expected with that profile.

Once the perfume has dried down, it gets a little better; the scent is not unpleasant, even if this 'withered flowers' aspect might confuse some people. On the other hand, the opening was extremely aggressive for me. This mixture of oud, animalic notes, leather, and incense... it's too much for me. I felt like I was transported straight into a pharaoh's tomb.

Right from the start, you get dead flowers, leather quickly joins in and blends fantastically. The scent is animalic and every now and then you still find a few living roses in the fragrance. It is slightly smoky in the background. A great fragrance for everyone who likes it darker.
