Grand Beau

Quite honestly: Thomas de Monaco Grand Beau wonderfully breaks with the typical cliché of summer and ocean fragrances. Anyone looking for a pleasant, blue aquatic with shower gel freshness will be baffled at first, because the scent smells like real, rugged coastal forest and moist earth. The opening is extremely green, resinous, and spicy, with a tart, almost stinging pine and juniper freshness. When the whole thing settles after a while, a fascinating blend of cool tuberose, smoky incense, and earthy notes comes through, perfectly capturing the vibe of a shady pine grove behind the dunes. It has an undeniable artistic quality, is extremely long-lasting, and radiates a calm, melancholic elegance. However, you have to like this very herbaceous-earthy, almost vegetal character – for the steep niche price, you definitely don't get a pleasing everyday crowd-pleaser here, but an uncompromising character fragrance for nature and art lovers. The price-performance ratio can't really be justified.

Well-made fragrance, but unfortunately not for my nose

Very green, salty and earthy. The performance is actually good (lasts long and projects well), but the scent itself is just not for me. Somewhat unpleasant at times.
