Cherry lollipops
Maraschino starts with an intense mix of many red fruits. Very quickly, an extremely prominent cherry note emerges, which reminds me exactly of cherry lollipops from my childhood. After about 30 minutes, the scent becomes calmer overall and loses its initial shrillness as a rose joins in. My issue with the fragrance, however, is the very artificial-sounding cherry sweetness that persists throughout its development. While the rose itself is lovely, it cannot hold its own against that specific, synthetic lollipop note. An expertly crafted fragrance for fans of fruity opulence, but to me, this kind of sweetness is just too artificial.
