The story
Sospiro began in Italy in 2011 with the idea of composing fragrance like classical music. The collection speaks that language through names such as Vibrato, Basso, Contralto, and other musical terms that give each creation its own tempo.
The house connects Mediterranean perfumery with a perspective that also speaks to the Gulf. Since 2022, a new chapter has been carried forward from Dubai. Velvet flacons with gold-toned caps and a butterfly motif make that connection tangible.
01 · Origin

An Italian beginning

Sospiro was founded in Italy in 2011. Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo described the concept as a team effort with a clear artistic direction: Mediterranean perfumery should take on the emotional language of opera and classical music. That idea explains why musical terms shape the collection and why Vibrato and Basso read like titles from a score.

02 · Composition

Fragrance as a score

On its philosophy page, Sospiro describes construction not as a recipe but as a score. Top, heart, and base become movements that unfold in sequence on warm skin. Oud remains one instrument within the composition. The current collection extends that idea through different colors, velvet surfaces, and olfactive directions.

03 · Object and craft

The flacon as final movement

For Sospiro, the composition does not end with the liquid. Its official philosophy treats the velvet flacon, engraved cap, and weight in the hand as the fragrance’s final movement. Dolce Sonata shows that link between musical naming, rich color, and a deliberately staged object particularly clearly.
