Sol Salgado

Sol Salgado was the perfume that opened the doors of niche perfumery for me. I remember walking through a niche store for the first time with some friends and moving through the usual: the BDKs, the PDMs, the Frederic Malle's,... Discovering stuff I had already heard of online. But then for one of the last perfumes I checked, I saw the Thomas de Monaco line and picked up the one that sounded familiar to my language: Sol Salgado. It blew my mind! I gave the blotter to my friend and it blew her mind too! It wasn't shock value, it was storytelling and profound nostalgia. That's what perfumery is about for me and that's what Sol Salgado represents. Eventually got a sample, then a decant and 2 and 3. Got people obsessed with it, who also got decants although they never were into perfumery. Now I have a full bottle of it and it's almost the scent that people recognize me by, even though I wear a lot of stuff. Just perfection in a bottle.

What a beautiful, complex and special fragrance. It really reminds one of a day at the seaside, the skin smells of sunscreen and sea salt. The day was perfect and this scent captures that. But please do not over-apply.

This fragrance smells like a luxurious vacation in Monaco, as if you've just come out of the sea and still have expensive sunscreen on your skin. Fresh sea air, warm sun, and elegant summer vibes.
