Masar

Immediate earthiness, leather. Soon amber, tobacco, smoky, woody notes. For me, a top fragrance with a tart spiciness, definitely no softie despite the animalic character. When it has matured, this one from Basel, I also recall freshly wallpapered walls. Makes you wonder: Should I, or shouldn't I.

Great scent description, but unfortunately not my thing. The fragrance is tart-resinous and dense.

An initially quite heavy and powerful fragrance, which however calms down a bit over time and appears significantly more pleasant. The fresh yuzu provides an exciting contrast to the warm, sweet-spicy base and makes the fragrance particularly interesting for me. In the drydown, leather and sandalwood move more into the foreground and give it exactly the depth that I appreciate so much. For me, Masar is not an everyday fragrance; however, those who like characterful, intense compositions with smoky and animalic facets will very likely find what they are looking for here.
