Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) is primarily sourced from the Amazon rainforest regions of Brazil and Peru. The essential oil is extracted through steam distillation of the wood, typically from the tree's heartwood. Due to overharvesting concerns, sustainable and synthetic alternatives have become increasingly important in modern perfumery.
