Serious competition for No88?
BeauFort has completely won me over, so it was only a matter of time before I sampled Acrasia. And first of all, I expected a lot of things, but not discovering a rival to one of my absolute favorite perfumes, No. 88 by C&S. But one thing at a time. My previous experience with BeauFort prepared me for something that initially almost deters, but then reveals a wonderful depth (Terror & Magnificence is the best example, although by now I even love the 'deterrent' part). Acrasia is completely different here—the wine, the dark rose, come through beautifully right from the start and linger for a really long time, carried by incense—here in combination with vetiver: anyone who has smelled the latter as a raw ingredient will wonder, like me, what is supposed to be so great about it. But this combination is present in all the perfumes I like (and could wear all day long without them ever getting on my nerves). Acrasia is so far one of the most accessible perfumes I have tested from BeauFort London, yet it is still very niche and would suit an Eric Draven much better than the 'modern man'. Right at the top for me, definitely deserves more attention. The longevity is quite decent, the sillage rather subtle and not intrusive.
