Bois d'Ascese

This fragrance smells intensely of a smoky campfire, but over time develops more gently and acquires a fine note of whiskey. Unfortunately, it is not for me, as I find it too strong. However, it is definitely wearable. It is perfect for real tough guys, such as firefighters or rockers in a smoky bar. The composition is a true masterpiece. It must certainly be no easy task to create this scent.

Bois d’Ascèse creates a very convincing atmosphere of wood, fire and cold mountain air. I can appreciate the concept and the quality, but the smoky character becomes too dominant for me. It reminds me of clothes after sitting beside a fireplace, and after a while I find it tiring rather than comforting. Beautifully evocative, but difficult for me to wear.

It has a very strong ash accent. Too much for me. I'm not sure if I wear it pure, but in a combination with other scents it sounds interesting.
