Cade is an intensely smoky, woody, and tar-like fragrance note with a strong, camphoraceous character. It has a robust, almost medicinal quality with deep, dark nuances that evoke images of burnt wood, leather, and wilderness. The scent is sharp, penetrating, and can be quite powerful.

Cade is derived from the juniper tree (Juniperus oxycedrus), primarily found in Mediterranean regions. The essential oil is extracted through destructive distillation of the wood, which involves heating the wood in the absence of oxygen, creating a thick, dark oil with a distinctive smoky character.
