Above the Wave

It doesn't get any fresher, though personally I don't really detect the tea. But I'm also very picky in that regard. Of all the 'tea scents' I have tested so far, this one has the least noticeable tea note to my nose.

I have been testing my way through the world of tea scents for a long time, so naturally, I couldn't pass this one by. Above the wave brings with it a fairly familiar fresh tea note. The mate is significantly more prominent than the Ceylon tea, and the bergamot keeps the fragrance fresh for a very long time. You feel transported to an English tea house, although the floral note in Above the wave is clearly given space, setting the scent apart from others like Wulong Cha or Monsoon Tea. The vanilla then gives the tea enough, but not too much, sweetness. An uncomplicated fragrance for every tea lover.

I struggled a lot with whether I should even order the fragrance as a sample. In the end, the name of the perfumer, with whom I have often had good experiences, convinced me. I think Mathieu Nardin creates very harmonious, "well-rounded", multi-faceted, and complete fragrances that, in my opinion, are not really meant for layering because they already appear outstanding on their own. Now I have tested the fragrance and was not disappointed, but rather completely thrilled and positively surprised! Bergamot and cardamom create a great, fresh opening that flows seamlessly into what I perceive as floral tea notes. The complex scent experience lasts until the very end - simply wonderful to me! I find the longevity astonishing - after a solid 6 hours, I can still clearly perceive the scent on my wrist. "Above the Wave" is super pleasant, relaxed, and unobtrusive, a versatile go-to fragrance, suitable for everyday wear, for all situations in life and all seasons, unisex. Great! Small addition: I have since discovered that the manufacturer also lists rose in the heart note of the fragrance pyramid in addition to the tea varieties.
