I struggled a lot with whether I should even order the fragrance as a sample. In the end, the name of the perfumer, with whom I have often had good experiences, convinced me. I think Mathieu Nardin creates very harmonious, "well-rounded", multi-faceted, and complete fragrances that, in my opinion, are not really meant for layering because they already appear outstanding on their own. Now I have tested the fragrance and was not disappointed, but rather completely thrilled and positively surprised! Bergamot and cardamom create a great, fresh opening that flows seamlessly into what I perceive as floral tea notes. The complex scent experience lasts until the very end - simply wonderful to me! I find the longevity astonishing - after a solid 6 hours, I can still clearly perceive the scent on my wrist. "Above the Wave" is super pleasant, relaxed, and unobtrusive, a versatile go-to fragrance, suitable for everyday wear, for all situations in life and all seasons, unisex. Great! Small addition: I have since discovered that the manufacturer also lists rose in the heart note of the fragrance pyramid in addition to the tea varieties.”
