Eichenmoos

Eichenmoos ist eine komplexe, erdige und holzige Duftnote mit einem reichen, tiefen und leicht muffigen Charakter. Es hat ein grünes, waldartiges Aroma mit feuchten, moosigen Untertönen, die Bilder von Waldböden und gealtertem Leder hervorrufen. Der Duft ist gleichzeitig scharf und weich, mit einer charakteristischen Moschus-Note und leicht bitteren Qualität.
Herkunft und Extraktion
Eichenmoos ist eine Flechte (Evernia prunastri), die auf Eichenbäumen in gemäßigten Wäldern Europas, insbesondere in mediterranen Regionen, wächst. Traditionell wird es durch Lösungsmittelextraktion gewonnen, die seine komplexen aromatischen Verbindungen erfasst. Aufgrund von IFRA-Beschränkungen verwenden viele moderne Parfüms synthetische Eichenmoos-Ersatzstoffe oder stark modifizierte natürliche Extrakte.
Geschichte und Kultur
Eichenmoos wird seit dem späten 19. Jahrhundert in der Parfümerie verwendet und wurde in der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts besonders bedeutend. Es war ein definierender Bestandteil der Chypre-Duftkategorie, die von François Coty 1917 geschaffen wurde. Seine Verwendung umspannt die traditionelle europäische Parfümerie mit bedeutender kultureller Relevanz in französischen und mediterranen Dufttraditionen. Trotz regulatorischer Herausforderungen bleibt es ein verehrter und ikonischer Duftbestandteil.
Chemie und Molekularstruktur
Eichenmoos enthält komplexe Verbindungen wie Atranol, Chloroatranol und Evernsäure. Diese Moleküle tragen zu seinem charakteristischen Moschus-, Holz- und leicht bitteren Duftprofil bei. Die primären aromatischen Verbindungen sind Sesquiterpene und flechtenspezifische phenolische Verbindungen, die seine einzigartigen olfaktorischen Eigenschaften erzeugen.
