Sparkling Citrus Through the Green
Another great scent by Zoologist. You’re in a forest, in pleasantly cool shade. It’s warm and a little humid, but not stuffy. And within the forest, there’s an enormous jasmine grove: hundreds of jasmine trees, all in bloom. You’re standing right in the middle of it. And you’re drinking an ice-cold, fizzy, natural citrus lemonade: orange, lemon, kumquat, something like pomelo. Actually, I get much more pomelo than the listed kumquat. Everything is sprinkled with pink pepper, which adds even more of that bright, lemony acidity. Saffron appears somewhere in the distance, but not with that medicinal, iodine-like character. Here it smells like a spice - the warm, slightly oriental saffron you get when cooking or baking with it. What a beautiful Tiger Zoologist has created. You might expect a tiger to smell like some kind of balm - Thai balm, Tiger Balm, something medicinal. Instead, there is so much air here. Cool humidity, sparkling citrus, freshness. Then it gets slightly warmer. As if you sat down in the middle of that jasmine grove, still drinking your lemonade, but now you’re sitting on a piece of sun-warmed, freshly cut wood. Sweet-salty wood. In the end, beautiful dry vetiver, a very thin trace of incense and that warm salty wood. Lots of dry vetiver in the finish - not creamy, not sweet, but almost like dry wild grasses.
