Doux Ennui

... at the beginning, the fragrance shows a sweet side of apricot jam, followed by heavy, buttery ylang-ylang... from here on, however, the development takes a negative turn: the base becomes monotonous, musty, and reminiscent of expired cream... this artificial impression ultimately only triggers bothersome headaches...

I like Doux Ennui quite a bit; I had it in my sample box. I find that it smells a bit like fresh almonds at first, then something citrusy comes through, and it becomes sweeter as it fades out. A good everyday scent, but I wouldn't buy it, even though the bottle looks great ;).

The fragrance is reminiscent of enjoying a delicate brioche bun, refined with creamy butter, a pinch of salt, and a generous layer of slightly tart apricot jam. This unusual yet harmonious association gives the composition a special depth: it combines sweet, warm nuances with a subtle freshness that lends the fragrance lightness and elegance.
