Luisant Haze

... a fragrance that piqued my curiosity despite my skepticism towards the perfume house... the delicate wild strawberry in the top note is beautiful, but unfortunately recedes far too quickly... what remains is a very synthetic berry blend with a strong scented candle vibe... added to that is a pungent sharpness that leaves a rather unpleasant, metallic impression... In terms of craftsmanship, it's quite decent, but it's not my thing... (incidentally, it smells much better on the blotter than on my skin...)

So, the longevity is actually very good and the sillage is pleasant - not too quiet, but not overwhelming either. Unfortunately, the scent itself isn't quite for me, as it starts off extremely peppery (pink pepper) and very, very sweet. There is a strange mustiness lingering within the sweetness. The pepper fades after about an hour or blends into the overall profile, but the sweetness remains. I will give it another chance in autumn/winter, as the composition itself is quite well-rounded. Update: This musty sweetness is starting to annoy me after 7 hours.
