Spiritcask

Spiritcask has one of the most immediately recognisable openings I have smelled. It genuinely feels like opening an old bottle of strong spirits: whisky, herbal alcohol and something dusty and aged. As it dries down, however, it becomes much more floral and camphoraceous to my nose, with woody and slightly root-like facets underneath. At times it evokes an old apartment or an old herbal cabinet, which I personally find difficult to enjoy as a fragrance. I do find it interesting, though, and the more I smell it, the more understandable it becomes. I would like to test it again on clothes before making a final judgement.

You are immediately in the middle of the hustle and bustle: leather, whisky barrel, coffee house with Sachertorte, I can confirm malt beer, something green, animalic. That is how it smelled at our ski lodge. A winter scent. Truly sophisticated and intriguing.

Jorum Studio really knows how to make fragrances seem natural. Spiritcask smells sweet, boozy, slightly fruity, and is a nice evening fragrance. The listed notes can be found once you pay attention to them. For me, the scent could use a bit more pear, alcohol, and wood, but less vanilla and sweetness. Still, a successful fragrance for lovers of sweet, gourmand scents.
