Woody Notes
Australian Sandalwood
Australian sandalwood has a drier, more austere character than its Indian cousin. The creaminess is still present but more restrained, with a sharper, slightly nutty woodiness and a subtle hay-like dryness taking center stage. There is a gentle spiciness and a faintly earthy, almost dusty quality that evokes the Australian outback. While it lacks the buttery richness of Mysore sandalwood, it has its own honest, clean beauty that many perfumers have come to appreciate on its own terms.
