Orange X Santal

Orange X Santal opens with a beautiful orange note that immediately reminds me of freshly peeled orange zest. Juicy and citrusy, yet at the same time slightly bitter and aromatic. For me, the opening is clearly the best part of the fragrance. After that, more green notes join in. At first, I thought of bergamot, lemon, or even patchouli, but the fragrance actually features basil, oakmoss, and cypress alongside bitter orange and sandalwood (Essential Parfums). Additionally, I perceive a slight floral facet that feels more like colorful blossoms rather than white florals to me. The image that comes to mind is a sunny picnic on a green meadow: beautiful weather, a fresh breeze, sunglasses, a great view, and a basket full of oranges beside me. I peel an orange and simply enjoy the moment. Unfortunately, that image is more interesting to me than the fragrance's further development. After the truly lovely opening, not enough happens. The scent smells pleasant and not bad at all, but the overall direction feels familiar to me. It lacks individuality and something that truly surprises me. 6.5 beautiful orange opening and a pleasant summer vibe, but after that, too familiar and a bit boring.

I generally really like orange scents and therefore bought this one, but I am now realizing that after a while I just don't get along with it completely. I think it is too tart and too woody for me, and I miss the freshness.

Orange X Santal - I wanted to like you. The top note is really very nice - juicy, sparkling, and citrus-fresh. But afterwards, I perceive an unpleasant scent on my skin. Is it the oakmoss or the Australian sandalwood? Not a purchase candidate for me.
