Penguin

I like this scent, but it still doesn't stand out as much as I would have expected.

Medicinal and cool at the beginning, leaning towards menthol / eucalyptus. However, this only lasts for a few minutes before it turns herbal, spicy, and leathery. Pink pepper is recognizable, saffron as well. Then after one to two hours, it becomes somewhat smoky, spicy, powdery, and takes on a slightly musty note. Overall, it goes in the direction of a cold, damp cellar. Not unpleasantly moldy, but also not a fresh, wintry cold. Rather, just a powdery-stale coolness. The longevity is solid, lasting on me from morning until evening. However, apart from the first few minutes, no real development is noticeable. The sillage and intensity on my skin, though, are rather restrained. I have to get my nose up close to smell anything at all. All in all okay and quite wearable, but not as I had imagined from the description. So not an arctic freshness, but rather a spicy, musty coolness. Not a must-buy for me. This was my first Zoologist. Disappointed me a bit, but I remain curious about the others.

Frozen metal. The canals of Venice in winter, or more precisely, standing on a vaporetto with half-frozen seaweed in the cold water. Laundry frozen outside and then brought back into a warm apartment. Wormwood covered in frost, dry grasses after the first freeze. Berries like blackthorn, forgotten on the bushes, frosted over and covered with a thin crust of ice. Gin on ice with a bitter, natural tonic and pink pepper. An icy, fresh, sharp, botanical herbal fragrance.
