Details on Thomas De Monaco Sol Salgado

Sol Salgado is the essence of sun-kissed skin and salt. It's a shimmering seduction, capturing the magic of an endless summer. This fragrance feels like warm sand and a gentle sea breeze. It blends soft floral notes like linden blossom and mimosa with a cozy, musky base, touched by powdery heliotrope and sweet gourmand hints of vanilla.

Nicely composed!

But unfortunately not my flowers. I can easily imagine this on a wealthy woman, dressed completely in white with a huge white sun hat, cruising into the sunset on a yacht. But that woman is definitely not me.

Very interesting mix

It is a very interesting fragrance. On the one hand, there are these sweet floral notes, like the linden blossom. Then comes a very salty hint with a cloud of smoke, it smells unusual, but I wouldn't wear it on an everyday basis.

Summer perfection in a bottle

Sol Salgado was the perfume that opened the doors of niche perfumery for me. I remember walking through a niche store for the first time with some friends and moving through the usual: the BDKs, the PDMs, the Frederic Malle's,... Discovering stuff I had already heard of online. But then for one of the last perfumes I checked, I saw the Thomas de Monaco line and picked up the one that sounded familiar to my language: Sol Salgado. It blew my mind! I gave the blotter to my friend and it blew her mind too! It wasn't shock value, it was storytelling and profound nostalgia. That's what perfumery is about for me and that's what Sol Salgado represents. Eventually got a sample, then a decant and 2 and 3. Got people obsessed with it, who also got decants although they never were into perfumery. Now I have a full bottle of it and it's almost the scent that people recognize me by, even though I wear a lot of stuff. Just perfection in a bottle.
