Despite its sweetness, the scent does not feel clumsy, but rather well-rounded and sophisticated. The spices and the slightly smoky undertone prevent it from tipping into pure confectionery. For me, Île Bourbon is a gourmand in perfection. A dark chocolate, refined with subtly balanced spice and creamy—not too sweet—vanilla, accompanied by a delicate note of incense. Here, bitterness, sweetness, and smokiness are stylishly interwoven. Île Bourbon creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. I am delighted to wear this mature fragrance.

Starts with a stronger incense and cardamom note, immediately followed by a sweet vanilla. Over time, the incense and the vanilla continually balance each other out in turns, so that it never becomes too dark and never too vanilla-gourmand. I do not perceive any chocolate. Very well balanced. Unfortunately, it is not special enough for me to buy a full bottle, and furthermore, the longevity on my skin is too weak. Anyone looking for a 'mature', refined vanilla has come to the right place.
