Karagoz

For me it's a very fruity and pleasant scent. I would use it as my everyday fragrance if I had just one bottle in my collection.

With Karagoz from the famous "Shadow Play" collection, Nishane demonstrates courage for extreme contrasts and delivers an Extrait de Parfum that shows full presence from the very first second. The opening is fascinatingly unconventional: a lush, rich note of dark grapes and pineapple clashes with strong, herbal-green accords. It is an extroverted, almost larger-than-life start, which, thanks to the immense quality of the essences used, never appears artificial but stands absolutely tangible, juicy, and alive in the room. However, the true face of the fragrance reveals itself in its magnificent development on the skin. As soon as the initial fruitiness recedes slightly, a deep dark, almost raw base makes its way to the surface. Here, Karagoz plays its absolute trump cards: an excellent patchouli and vetiver provide a dry-earthy texture, while a striking, highly authentic oud note (agarwood) weaves through the composition. It is precisely this masterful balancing act between the fruity opening and the uncompromising, woody-earthy foundation that testifies to the highest art of perfumery. The perfume never loses its edge and offers exactly the depth one expects from high-quality, nature-derived raw materials. The performance is – typical for Nishane's extraits – simply massive. The longevity on the skin effortlessly approaches the 24-hour mark (even longer on clothing), and the sillage is extremely dominant; here, less is definitely more. For me, Karagoz is an absolute statement fragrance for cooler days or for evenings when you want to stand out. Anyone who appreciates fruity nuances but does not want to sacrifice a deep, resinous base characterized by real oud will find an absolutely fascinating and unmistakable experience here.
