Santal Complet

Very woody, creamy, warm, but for me it also leans more towards aftershave; however, the drydown is calmer again and somewhat unisex. It's not my cup of tea, but I understand the artistry behind it.

We had a rocky start, tested, bought and sold again... then tested again and immediately fell in love and bought it again... it's a scent to truly feel, the coconut opening is a bit off-putting, but then comes an incredibly soft, gentle spice with the creamiest sandalwood I know...

I had been guided by the many comparisons to sunscreen and expected an immediate, soft coconut nuance. But the opening was unfortunately anything but inviting for me. The opening is dominated by a very present lemon, which in my opinion does not harmonize at all with the creamy basic idea. At the beginning, it simply doesn't feel well-rounded or consistent. Patience is needed: only later on does the sharp citrus fade away and make room for the subtle, creamy coconut I had hoped for. I do like this drydown much better, but the road to get there is long and the overall composition unfortunately doesn't seem harmonious in the base for me. For lovers of purely creamy sandalwood scents, the citrus contrast here is definitely a hurdle.
