Éminence

Very cool and wet at the beginning, almost sharp. In the drydown, it has tendencies of a typical men's cologne.

Unfortunately, I cannot warm up to this fragrance profile at all. Right from the first impression, an distinctly old-fashioned, musty atmosphere emerges for me. Old, slightly faded roses, stale wood, and that peculiar smell of a bedroom that has barely been changed for decades. Somehow, the whole thing reminds me of grandma's bedroom, with old wooden furniture, heavy fabrics, and things that have been sitting in the same place for far too long. Somewhere deep in the back of my olfactory memory, however, a note seems to be hiding that I actually find quite pleasant. Unfortunately, it never manages to break through this overall impression, which feels musty to me. Perhaps it is simply because I cannot connect with this type of fragrance composition. I can certainly imagine that Éminence has its admirers and evokes completely different memories for others. For me, however, it remains just this one test. It will neither find a place in my collection, nor can I imagine voluntarily wearing it in everyday life. A fragrance with character, but unfortunately not to my taste at all.
