A summer evening that stays longer than expected
Radio Bombay is a fragrance that doesn't explain itself immediately to me – and that is exactly where its strength lies. At first, it seems soft and almost lovely, carried by an unusual combination of coconut, wood, and a spicy depth. It's a mixture you might think wouldn't work. But it does. And how. Over time, something very unique unfolds: a warm, slightly coppery wood, shot through with a dry spiciness, while the coconut note only ever hints and never dominates. It is not a tropical beach scent, but rather the imagery of a summer evening by the sea – somewhere far away, perhaps on the Indian Ocean, when the heat of the day slowly subsides. Worn on the body, Radio Bombay feels intentional and very niche. It differs significantly from my other summer fragrances, and that's exactly what makes it so appealing. At the same time, it is not a loud performer: with only a few sprays, it can get lost, so it requires a bit of attention when applying. If given the space, it develops a calm, elegant presence – especially in the evenings, at dinners or events. Radio Bombay is not an everyday scent and not a simple crowd-pleaser. It is a decision. One for warmth, independence, and atmosphere. For me, that is exactly why it is one of the most exciting summer fragrances – and a definite candidate for the coming summer evenings.
