The name Hennessy is not entirely unknown when it comes to luxury and the culture of enjoyment: the cognac company Hennessy, founded as early as 1765 and today the global market leader, merged with the champagne producer Moët in 1971 and with the leather goods house Louis Vuitton in 1986, and is today a true empire as part of the LVMH Group. From the ninth generation of this family came Kilian Hennessy, who traditionally dedicated himself to a luxury good... but this time not to cognac, but to perfume. The taste sensitivity of the tasting process, where wood, honey, caramel, smoke, and floral aromas play a major role, and growing up with the smells of old storage cellars with precious barrels may have shaped Kilian Hennessy and trained him early on. He completed an education as a perfumer and worked for several large houses (Dior, Paco Rabanne, McQueen, Armani) before founding his own label in Paris in 2007. Having started with very high prices and exclusive marketing, by Kilian managed to establish itself very well in the luxury perfume and niche market almost immediately after the launch. "L'oeuvre Noire", the first line, consists of nine fragrances, which in turn are divided into three categories: pleasure, love, and pain. The "Arabian Nights Collection" begins with two fragrances. Kilian Hennessy is responsible for the concept and fragrance structure of the perfumes, and for the elaboration and execution, he enlists the support of renowned noses: Calice Becker is, so to speak, the "Executive Perfumer" for the majority of the perfumes, while for two so far, it is Sidonie Lancesseur.
