I’m drawn to fragrances with character, contrast, and depth. I’m especially fond of woods, leather, tobacco, tea, iris, spices, amber, dry oud, and green or citrus accords with structure. When it comes to sweeter scents, I prefer dark, creamy, or slightly boozy gourmands, with coffee, cocoa, tonka, or vanilla balanced by drier and more bitter notes. In warmer weather, I look for green, aromatic, luminous freshness, but never anything too simple or generic. I have a preference for unisex scents.

Orange in a Cathedral
Reliqvia smells like an orange tree inside a cathedral to me. Dry, warm orange over incense, smoked woods, pine and a cool stone-like feel. The incense never gets heavy, and on skin it becomes softer and slightly soapy in the drydown. Moderate projection, around 6.5–7 hours on me. Much warmer and more luminous than the intimidating bottle suggests.
