The story

Filippo Sorcinelli connects perfumery with the arts that shape his life: sacred tailoring, photography and, above all, organ music. His fragrance line began in 2014 as a tribute to the LAVS atelier he had established in Mondolfo in 2001.

The result is more than an incense collection. LAVS translates the scent of the atelier, Opus 1144 interprets Gothic architecture through smell, and Organ #1 turns a specific musical memory into a fragrance.

01 · From atelier to fragrance

One hand across fabric, smoke and sound

Before Filippo Sorcinelli released perfumes, he founded LAVS in 2001, an atelier for liturgical vestments and furnishings. Working with textiles, ornament and sacred space became the material foundation of his later fragrance world. The first UNUM creation appeared in 2014 as a tribute to that atelier—described by the brand itself as a form of “olfactory tailoring.”

02 · Olfactory tailoring

Ideas are translated into material, not merely illustrated

The fragrances do not simply borrow sacred motifs as decoration. LAVS grew from the practice of scenting vestments inside their boxes, making smoke, resins and fabric part of one continuous experience. Opus 1144 applies the same method to Gothic architecture: the brand explicitly relates the scent to the laying of the first stone at Saint-Denis in 1144.

03 · Organ and perfume

Sound shapes space; fragrance holds memory

For Filippo Sorcinelli, the organ is not a loose brand symbol but a biographical constant. In Extrait de Musique, he translates organ spaces, stops and specific memories into scent.
