Perfume as a language of freedom

Daniel Matousek describes scent as a language that resists ready-made definitions. His background in beauty and fashion photography brought an eye for image, attitude and the tension between surface and meaning. Carlo von Lintel adds the wish to move from a digital, perfect world into an imperfect, analogue experience. In Berlin, ART BRÜT takes shape as a shared project of creative direction and entrepreneurship.

02 · European collaboration

FLAIR Paris and DirnbergerMühle

ART BRÜT says its fragrances are developed closely with the perfumers of FLAIR Paris. The studio presents its practice as independent, collaborative perfumery with room for freedom and experimentation. For manufacture, ART BRÜT names the family-run DirnbergerMühle cosmetics manufacture in southern Germany. In the current selection, this collaboration can be traced through Weltschmerz, composed by Camille Chemardin, and German Angst Zwei by Anne-Sophie Behaghel.
