Zitrusnoten

Zitrusnoten sind helle, frische, prickelnde und lebendige Düfte, die durch ihre scharfen, herben und würzigen Eigenschaften gekennzeichnet sind. Sie rufen typischerweise die knackige, saubere Empfindung frisch gepresster Zitrusfrüchte hervor und vermitteln ein unmittelbares Gefühl von Leichtigkeit, Energie und Erfrischung.
Herkunft und Extraktion
Zitrusnoten werden hauptsächlich aus den Schalen, Rinden und ätherischen Ölen verschiedener Zitrusfrüchte wie Zitronen, Limetten, Orangen, Bergamotten, Grapefruits und Mandarinen gewonnen. Diese werden typischerweise durch Kaltpressung oder Wasserdampfdestillation gewonnen, um die frischen und flüchtigen aromatischen Verbindungen zu erhalten.
Geschichte und Kultur
Zitrusfrüchte und ihre aromatischen Essenzen werden seit Jahrhunderten in der Parfümerie, Medizin und Kulinarik geschätzt. Alte Ägypter, Griechen und Römer nutzten Zitrusöle für ihre erfrischenden und therapeutischen Eigenschaften. In der modernen Parfümerie wurden Zitrusnoten besonders im späten 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert mit dem Aufkommen von Kölnisch Wasser und frischen, leichten Düften prominent.
Chemie und Molekularstruktur
Zitrusnoten bestehen hauptsächlich aus Terpenen wie Limonen, Citral und Citronellal. Diese flüchtigen organischen Verbindungen sind verantwortlich für den charakteristischen scharfen, frischen und würzigen Duft. Limonen ist beispielsweise ein zyklisches Monoterpen, das den charakteristischen Zitrusduft in den ätherischen Ölen von Zitrusfrüchten liefert.
