Patricia Choux: Master of Luxury Perfumery
From Burgundy to Global Recognition
Patricia Choux's journey into perfumery began with a childhood moment of wonder. Born and raised in Burgundy, France, her destiny was sealed at age ten during a rainy family vacation when a visit to the Fragonard Museum in Grasse sparked an unshakeable passion. From that moment, she began sketching perfume bottles and inventing names, setting her on a path that would lead to creating some of the world's most prestigious fragrances.
After studying chemistry, Choux enrolled at the renowned ISIPCA in Versailles in 1993, where she honed her technical skills under the mentorship of legendary perfumer Dominique Ropion at Florasynth. Her international training continued in Germany at Symrise in Holzminden, providing her with a global perspective that would define her career. Since graduating in 1996, she has worked with major fragrance houses including Créations Aromatiques, Haarmann & Reimer (now Symrise), Takasago, and currently Mane in New York, where she has been based since 2005.
Choux's creative philosophy centers on translating unique visions into olfactory masterpieces. She draws inspiration from her extensive travels, capturing landscapes, colors, and cultural nuances in her compositions. Her love for versatile ingredients like patchouli and noble jasmine reflects her appreciation for materials that can transform and evolve within a composition. This approach has made her particularly sought after by niche brands that value creative freedom and artistic expression.

Her X for Women pays homage to the legendary love story of Marc Anthony and Cleopatra, featuring Egyptian jasmine and 187 carefully selected ingredients.

Her work with niche brands like biehl parfumkunstwerke and Nomenclature showcases her versatility and willingness to experiment with innovative synthetic molecules and unconventional compositions. Recent recognition includes her award-winning "Lychee Rose Eau de Parfum" for Nest New York, which won Fragrance of the Year at the 2024 Fragrance Foundation Awards.
Choux's influence extends beyond creation to education and mentorship. She participates in programs introducing students to sustainable perfumery practices and the art of scent creation.
