Yuzu on Menthol Ice
Wow. Especially for a cologne, this is incredibly bright. At the beginning there is so much icy menthol that I can literally feel my nose freezing, almost like using a menthol nasal spray. Menthol ice, crushed ice, spice, all surrounded by incredibly naturalistic yuzu. And underneath it: raw leather and bitter-sweet aromatic herbs. The menthol slowly melts and becomes more medicinal mint, then lots of eucalyptus. First freezing and sharp, later softer, like dried eucalyptus with those round leaves you see in bouquets. There is also a beautiful wormwood-like bitterness. For anyone looking for truly naturalistic yuzu here it is. But this is not another citrus cologne. It keeps changing in layers: bright yuzu fades, then suddenly breaks through the leather again; eucalyptus takes its place, then the yuzu returns. Everything rests on this bed of naturalistic, bitter, spicy herbs. Yuzu, menthol, eucalyptus, raw leather, wormwood. Layer after layer. And that incredible physical sensation of cold at the beginning omg my nose really feels frozen.
