Mind's Eye/Atmosphere: The olfactory image is not that of an open campfire, but strongly reminiscent of the evening bustle in an upscale, warm speakeasy bar. The air is heavy, charged with the scent of fruity, hot desserts served right beside heavy whiskey tumblers. A dense, almost tangible atmosphere that, however, is saved from completely drifting into sticky suffocation by a cool saffron note. Skin/Scent Development: The composition opens very dominantly and prominently. A very present apple accord, combined with distinct apricot, immediately takes the lead. Within seconds, massive honey and cinnamon join in, lending the fragrance an extremely dense, gourmand texture whose DNA strongly recalls the unmistakable aura of Oajan. At this point, the structure on my skin threatens to drift into pure, sticky sweetness. But then the saving balance steps in: a clearly perceptible whiskey note, underpinned by warming amber and soft vanilla, brings depth to the texture. Crucial in preventing a complete collapse, however, is a sterile, cool saffron that settles over the composition and decisively tempers the massive sweetness. In the drydown, it is mainly the fruity apple and the striking whiskey note that dominate. Seasons/Occasion: A classic heavyweight for the cold season. Absolutely unsuitable for warm days due to the massive presence of honey, cinnamon, and fruits. Its use is limited to evening occasions where one consciously wishes to project a warm, extremely present fragrance aura.
