The story
Sãlum is an Italian fragrance project based in Montechiarugolo, born from an idea by art director Massimiliano Minorini. The brand describes its name as a reference to the open sea and the freedom to follow an olfactory route.
The sea is the starting point, but Sãlum also tells stories of wind, nature, landscapes, and places. In Parfinity's catalog, that perspective appears in fragrances such as Cocoyster, Fig Tzatziki, and Sparkling Tamarind.
01 · Origin

An idea by Massimiliano Minorini

Massimiliano Minorini brought his experience as an art director in perfumery into a project that connects design with marine imagery. Sãlum therefore begins not as a centuries-old manufacture story, but as a deliberately designed new perspective on fragrance.

02 · Brand idea

The sea is a route, not a label

Sãlum describes the sea as the heart of the brand, but not its only subject. Wind, nature, atmospheres, and landscapes expand the theme. Fig Tzatziki evokes the Greek Aegean through fig, cucumber, and yogurt, while Cocoyster connects a salty oyster idea with coconut.

It's a hot summer day from childhood, a day at the outdoor pool. Of course, fries and cola are a must. Sparkling Tamarind feels fizzy and sweet in the opening, reminding me of a freshly opened bottle of cola. Due to the spiciness and a splash of citrus fruits, it is a beautiful reinterpretation of cola, though Sparkling Tamarind is not a pure cola scent. In contrast to Delina Exclusif, the fruity component is much more harmonious to my nose, with no stinging freshness that extends into the drydown. Other than that, the scents have nothing in common, and I don't want to compare them at all, but citrus notes can seem unpleasant to some noses if they haven't reached the drydown yet. The fizz fades the longer it stays on the skin, just like a cola bottle left open. To me, the fragrance is something special because I have never smelled this composition before. Sparkling Tamarind is fresh, cool, and simply fun. A scent that doesn't take itself too seriously and therefore fits wonderfully into the summer, whether on vacation or in everyday life. In the drydown, the scent becomes calmer; natural, woody notes remain, which however never feel heavy. They are caressed by a lime-lemon combination that is no longer sour, making the fragrance simply easy to wear.

I think this is the perfect summer fragrance for hot temperatures. Fresh but not intrusive, slightly sweet but without being too much. Unfortunately, it only lasts for a maximum of 2 hours on me.

I don't like it, simply too much salt. I expected Mediterranean, but got more of a harbor instead.
