d'Annam is a Vietnamese fragrance house founded by Nick Hoang in 2023. The brand treats perfume as a sensory record of places, foods, landscapes, and everyday rituals from Vietnam and across Asia.

Nick Hoang's sensory journal

Nick Hoang describes d'Annam as a response to the feeling that international perfumery was missing a note from his homeland. The first collection grew from memories of rural landscapes, rice fields, gardens, and Vietnamese food. According to the founder, d'Annam means “from Vietnam”; “An” speaks to peace and serenity. White Rice turns an everyday staple into a quiet olfactory subject.

From Vietnam to Japan and China

After its Vietnam chapter, d'Annam continues into Japan and China. Matcha Soft Serve and Arashiyama connect tea, bamboo, rain, and sweetness through a personal language of memory. Chinese Calligraphy, by contrast, turns to ink, paper, lacquer, and the focused quiet of a scholar's studio. The brand frames this as respectful study of local heritage rather than a universal reading of Asian culture.

d'Annam describes its fragrances as hand-crafted in small batches. The work joins traditional perfumery techniques with materials and references from everyday life, including coffee, rice, tea, bamboo, and spices.
