Silver Musk

Expected to love this but ended up being kind of disappointed. I don't think it's the brand or the fragrance's fault, it's just that this is one of those fragrance types that I don't really care about: clean fragrances. That whole concept and aesthetic doesn't really fit my taste. From what I understand, Silver Musk was really one of the stepping stones in the creation of this category and it's definitely one of the best at that. But I just don't find it particularly interesting or artistic.

Initially flashing silver and cool, then quickly becoming warmer and creamy-white, somehow cozy. Lightly floral, somewhat sweet / powdery and feminine, slightly animalic. I agree with one review: actually comparable to the slightly animalic smell of a polar bear fur in a clean apartment with plenty of glass and chrome. Or like the smell of a cozy blanket or the warm, clean animalic scent of the fur of a freshly washed dog. Not suitable if you want to smell like perfume (or perhaps as a base for layering), but great if you want to smell good and clean. Smells elegant. Sillage ok, longevity decent, lasting on me from morning to evening or even until the next morning. It can be worn all year round, though fresher scents are more suitable in summer. For me, it's primarily a scent for winter when sitting in front of the fireplace with a cozy blanket. As a newcomer to the perfume world, not an immediate purchase for me because it's a bit too sweet / powdery and simultaneously too animalic / spicy. However, I suspect this is a scent that will never let go of me, and I will eventually weaken and buy it after all.

I’ll buy full size but just to use it like a base for another perfumes. Or if you want to smell CLEAN
