Raspberry is typically extracted from the fruit through various methods including steam distillation, solvent extraction, and CO2 extraction. Natural raspberry essence is derived from the fruit of the Rubus idaeus plant, which is cultivated in temperate regions including Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. While natural extraction can be challenging and expensive, many perfumers use synthetic raspberry notes to capture the fruit's characteristic scent.
