Gurjum

Gurjum
Woody Notes
Gurjum has a warm, woody, balsamic aroma with subtle spicy undertones. It presents a soft, sweet-woody character reminiscent of cedar with slight peppery notes and a delicate resinous quality. The scent is deep and rich, with a slightly medicinal facet.
Gurjum balsam is obtained from various species of Dipterocarpus trees, primarily found in Southeast Asia, particularly in India, Thailand, and Vietnam. The oleoresin is collected by tapping the trees, similar to how maple syrup is harvested. The essential oil is then obtained through steam distillation of the balsam.
