Copaiba balsam has a warm, woody, slightly sweet, and resinous scent profile with subtle balsamic and slightly spicy undertones. It offers a soft, smooth aroma that is less intense than other woody resins, with a clean and slightly medicinal character.

Copaiba balsam is extracted from the resin of Copaifera trees, which are native to the Amazon rainforest regions of Brazil, Colombia, and other parts of South America. The resin is typically collected by making incisions in the tree trunk and allowing the balsam to flow out, then collected and processed through steam distillation.
