Carrot as a fragrance note offers a unique sweet-earthy aroma with woody undertones. It has a distinctive iris-like quality that's powdery and slightly metallic, combined with fresh, green aspects and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of carrot juice. The scent is both fresh and warm, with a mild spicy facet.

The carrot note in perfumery is primarily derived from carrot seed essential oil, obtained through steam distillation of Daucus carota seeds. The oil can also be extracted from the roots and leaves of the plant. Modern perfumery also uses synthetic molecules to recreate and enhance the carrot accord.
