The story

Ormonde Jayne grew from Linda Pilkington's curiosity about scent, design, and unusual materials. After early work with candles and room fragrances, she opened a boutique in London's Royal Arcade in 2001.

The house remains independent today. Its fragrances are made in its own GMP certified studio in Kent, where they mature before filtration and bottling. 01 · A personal beginning

From beeswax candles to an independent house

Linda Pilkington's path began with hand rolled beeswax candles, room fragrances, and a strong instinct for design. After travelling through the Middle East and Asia, she returned to London. A commission connected to Chanel led to a scented candle and gave the name Ormonde Jayne its first business form.

02 · London as a starting point

The boutique in the Royal Arcade

In October 2001, Ormonde Jayne opened its first boutique on Old Bond Street. The Royal Arcade address represents the house's London origin and a modern British perfumery defined from the start by independence and personal service.

03 · Rare materials

Black Hemlock, oudh, and champaca

The house looks for materials that rarely occupy the centre of a perfume. Ormonde Woman places Black Hemlock absolute alongside jasmine and violet, while Ormonde Man joins oudh with dark woods. Champaca translates the creamy Indian flower through basmati and green tea into an unusual, precise composition.

04 · Made in its own studio

Maturation as part of the composition

Ormonde Jayne now makes its products in its own studio in Kent. The oils mature there for months before filtration and bottling. The GMP certified setting and inspection by trained staff make production itself part of the house signature.
