Corinna Kuhnert: Natural Perfumery Pioneer

Corinna Kuhnert's path to becoming a master perfumer began with a childhood memory that would shape her entire creative vision. At just nine years old, her first visit to her grandfather in Hawaii introduced her to the intense, intoxicating scents of tropical flowers and the profound philosophy of "Aloha" - a way of life centered on love and respect. This early encounter with Hawaiian fragrances planted the seeds for what would become her life's work.

Before dedicating herself to the art of scent, Kuhnert built a successful career in renowned architectural offices across Copenhagen and Berlin. However, her heart called her toward a different path. She transitioned into intuitive perception and psycho-spiritual healing methods, training hundreds of students alongside her husband, Jörn Klaas. This background in healing arts would later influence her approach to perfumery, viewing fragrance as a tool for wellbeing and emotional transformation.

In 2020, Kuhnert's enduring fascination with natural fragrances led her to pursue master's training with Mandy Aftel, a prominent natural fragrance icon in Berkeley, California. Under Aftel's guidance, she became a certified Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Teacher, mastering the complex art of working exclusively with natural essences. This training provided the technical foundation for her already intuitive understanding of scent and its emotional impact.

In February 2021, Kuhnert co-founded Aloha Senses with her husband, establishing herself as the creative nose behind the brand's unique natural perfumes. Working from their manufactory in Kiel, Germany, she creates handcrafted fragrances in small batches using 100% natural essences - essential oils, absolutes, resins, and CO2 extracts, all of purely plant-based origin. Her commitment to natural perfumery means avoiding synthetic raw materials, phthalates, parabens, and artificial additives entirely.

Kuhnert's signature style reflects her deep connection to Hawaiian culture and her extensive travels worldwide. For over 15 years, she has collected exclusive natural essences from her journeys, building a palette of rare and precious materials. Her fragrances like Amber - Warm Embrace, Honi - Narcotic Kiss, and Mana - Luxurious Glow showcase her ability to create complex, balanced compositions that tell stories of tropical landscapes and spiritual connection.
