Tonkin Musk is a deeply animalic, warm, and sensual fragrance note characterized by rich, intimate, and complex scent nuances. Traditionally, Tonkin Musk was derived from the musk deer (Moschus moschiferus) found in the mountainous regions of Tibet, Nepal, and parts of China. The musk was extracted from a gland near the abdomen of male musk deer. However, due to conservation efforts and animal protection laws, modern perfumery now uses synthetic musk molecules that replicate the original scent profile.
