It does smell good; it really does. In classic English gentleman fashion, it is not loud at all, but rather classy. It leans toward a fougère, yet it has some nuances that make it feel distinctive and timeless. You can perceive the use of very high-quality ingredients. It starts green and fresh, but creamier than pungent, with a touch of pleasant toothpaste-like freshness in the background. The leather base gives it a unique, and perhaps somewhat polarizing, drydown that lasts forever, although I found the opening and mid stages more enjoyable. It is a nice fragrance, but personally, at that price point, a fragrance really needs to wow me, and this one didn't.
