The story
Shekor carries Bangladesh's roots in its name and makes them the starting point of a young perfume house. The brand's own account traces the project from an idea in 2022 to a collaboration between creative director Abedin, Antonio Gardoni, and Sultan Pasha.
The first two fragrances ground that idea in specific landscapes. Ashar recalls the first rain after the heat. Sylhet connects the tea gardens of the country's northeast with citrus, black tea, and oud. Bangladesh is not treated as an exotic backdrop, but as a lived place of memory and belonging.
01 · Roots

A house shaped by landscape and memory

Shekor means “roots” in Bangla. The brand describes its fragrances as stories and memories drawn from Sylhet's tea gardens, the streets of Old Dhaka, and Bangladesh's monsoon rains. This perspective makes place more important than an abstract fragrance category in every chapter.

02 · Collaboration

Three perspectives on one homeland

The official story begins with an idea shared by Antonio Gardoni and Abedin in 2022. In 2023, Sultan Pasha joined the project, bringing Bengali roots and his own perfumery practice. Gardoni's work with resins and natural materials meets Pasha's poetic approach to scent. Together they create two distinct voices from the same cultural foundation.
03 · The first fragrances

Rain and tea as olfactory places

Ashar, composed by Sultan Pasha, combines kadam flower, a rain accord, bamboo, and green tea. Sylhet, created by Antonio Gardoni, moves from lemongrass, mint, and black tea to patchouli, vetiver, leather, and agarwood. The two fragrances do not tell the same story with different ingredients. They offer two specific ways into Bangladesh.

Sylhet starts with a beautiful lemongrass, freshly cut limes and, above all, a strong oud. As it progresses, the tea blends in more and more, connecting everything beautifully. Anyone looking for an oud fragrance for summer or a slightly different citrus scent should definitely try Sylhet!

It is wearable and accessible, yet special. A fragrance that can be worn anytime and anywhere – and yet somehow never feels quite right. Unisex, vintage, sweaty, airy, and wet at the same time. An unusual combination that gives it its very own character. A special chypre fragrance that cannot be easily pigeonholed.

Gardoni has once again proven with Sylhet Shekor that he knows his craft. In the beginning, the fragrance presents itself as slightly citrus-green, before tea and warm woods gradually join in. In the end, a beautiful oud-tea scent with a citrus-green nuance emerges. Very special – I LIKE!
