The story
YeYe Parfums is an independent fragrance house based in Santa Barbara that describes its work as a meeting of European and American traditions. The brand develops its fragrances in-house from idea through composition to production, with close attention to raw materials, proportion, and detail.
At its center is Ernesto Sanchez Bujanda, a Venezuelan-born industrial engineer and perfumer. With Ryan York, he shaped YeYe into a house that places classical structure alongside unusual combinations of materials.
01 · The people behind the house

Engineering meets perfumery

Ernesto Sanchez Bujanda came to perfumery through industrial engineering and work in the beauty and fragrance world. After years of self-study and the launch of YeYe Home Fragrances, he developed the perfume house with Ryan York. In an interview, York explained that the name YeYe began as a childhood term of endearment used in Bujanda's family.

02 · Santa Barbara

The American Riviera as a working place

Santa Barbara has been YeYe Parfums' home since 2014. The official brand story calls it the American Riviera and points to a landscape where rosemary, lavender, and bougainvillea can thrive year-round. This origin is not a single scent motif, but a setting for the house's calm, clear approach.

03 · Composition and material

Classical lines, an open palette

YeYe describes its fragrances as classic and enigmatic and emphasizes the selection of fine raw materials. Early work with natural materials later expanded to include synthetics. The result is a collection in which Equus No 8, Sentiers de Comètes, and Y.O.R.K. No 7 take different paths through woods, flowers, spices, and musk.

What the community says about YeYe

7/10
I find the scent very fresh immediately upon spraying, a mixture of citrus and something minty. After a short while, it becomes calmer and slightly powdery, somehow soft and pleasant. A floral note also comes through, but it's quite subtle and not heavy. In the background, there's always a hint of freshness and something woody. Overall, it's a clean, unobtrusive fragrance that's great for everyday wear.

The perfumer behind YeYe

Ernesto Sanchez Bujanda

Ernesto Sanchez Bujanda's path to perfumery began far from the traditional routes of Grasse or ISIPCA. Born in Venezuela and educated as an Industrial Engineer in the United States, Bujanda discovered that his mathematical background aligned perfectly with the precise art of fragrance creation.
